The Ace Aquatec Pipeline Stunner was the first generation Humane Slaughterer designed to stun/kill portion-sized trout.
In manufacture since 2003 the machine has established itself as the UK standard with some 80% of UK production passing through these tubes.

Operation is simple. Farm water is pumped through the 18 metre tube and the machine switched on. The system analyses the water conductivity (flashing yellow and green lights) and adjusts its voltage to suit. After a few seconds the machine is ready and
signals the operator with a steady green light. Fish are then introduced into the pipeline where they encounter the Stun tube which renders them unconscious then through a series of
Maintenance tubes which keep them unconscious for the required 30 second treatment time. At the end of the harvest the machine is switched off.
The standard Pipeline Stunner is a 6T/hr machine although customers state that they can harvest up to 8T/hr. The design of the machine allows this rate to be doubled to 12T/hr.
Compared to traditional slaughter methods customers report that the appearance of the fish is superior with less scale damage. The onset
of rigor mortis is significantly delayed but exit from rigor occurs at the same time. Generally carcass quality is slightly improved with lower bruising but higher blood spotting
